Upgrading from NetZoomDC 14.x

Your new NetZoom Product must be completely installed prior to running any upgrades. Please see the NetZoom Installation Reference Manual for full details.

 

Upgrade Options

You have 2 options for upgrading from NetZoomDC 14.x:

 

Option 1: Direct Upgrade

Using the Direct Upgrade option has the following benefits over the Export Import option:

• Faster Upgrade
• Unattended Upgrade
• Transfers Logs, Notes and Resources

 

Option 2: Export Utility with Fresh Import

Using the Export Import option has the following benefits over the Direct Upgrade option:

• Upgrades shapes to their latest specifications
• Adds missing Manufacturer Data to Models
• Adds missing Device Views, Slots and Ports to Models

 

Exception List:

The following will not transfer regardless of upgrade method chosen:

• Pending Plans and Work Orders
• Audit Log Records
• Triggered Alerts
• Custom Alert Templates
• Custom Dashboards
• Custom Reports & Diagrams Templates
• Batch report scheduler mapping
• Custom Filters
• Custom Cables
• Discovery Profiles & Discovered Data
• Power Capping Profiles
• 3rd-Party Data Source Settings
• Role Permission Settings
• User Specific Settings
• Proxy Server, Report Server or Mail Server Settings
